World Animal Day
The 4th October marks World Animal Day. A day dedicated to improving animal welfare standards across the entire globe. On this day people across to world can get involved in the celebrations to help towards the protection of animals, whether it be little or large.
World Animal Day is a day to educate and make people across to world take notice of how important the lives of all animals are, and contributes to advancing animal welfare standards.
For example, The Society for the Protection of Animal Rights in Egypt used this day to help lobby for the addition of a clause on animal welfare in new Egyptians Constitution. Animals deserve to be protected, as us individuals, businesses and nations affect the lives of these wonderful animals.
Anyone can get involved in celebrating this wonderful day. In 2003 they recorded 44 events had taken place across 13 countries. It is now estimated over 1000 events will occur across 100 countries. Whether you are an individual, a business, or community, there is always something you can do to participate in this day. Eat a veggie or plant-based meal for the evening with friends or family, donate to an animal welfare charity or even just visit their website and sign their pledge. By joining in and celebrating you help towards change.

At Become Carbon Negative our aim is to plant trees to help you become carbon negative. Every individual creates carbon which leads to global warming, putting animals at risk all across the globe - this is why World Animal Day is important to us.
The loss of trees through deforestation not only means less carbon is absorbed from the air or that less oxygen is put out into the air but it also means many animals losing their natural habitat. Animal have the rights to be protected, to live safely. By removing their normal habitats they are forced to search for new homes, a process which risks their their life in many cases.
Together we can educate, learn, progress, reform and make change. Here at Become Carbon Negative, we are not only helping the growing concern of global warming but we are also helping to restore the habitats animals once had. At Become Carbon Negative we respect the lives of those animals and this is why we celebrate days like today.
So why not join in and get involved in protecting the animals, protecting the planet, to protect the future!
